Questions

Which kinds of field can I fill in?

Text fields, check boxes, radio buttons, drop-down lists and list boxes. A signature field becomes a “Sign here” button.

What if my PDF has no fields?

Press “Add text” or “Add date” and click the page where the words go. You can move, resize or delete each item.

Is my form private?

With “Use without saving”, yes. The form stays in your browser, and Sign sends nothing to the server. If you choose “Save and share”, your browser encrypts the form first, and the server deletes it after 7 days.

Can someone else fill in the form too?

Yes. Sign in, choose “Save and share” and send the link. The other person can fill in the fields without an account. The link works for 7 days.

Can I still edit the form after I save it?

Yes. Sign does not flatten the PDF, so the fields stay editable in other PDF viewers. Open the saved PDF in Sign again to change your answers.

Why do some old forms work only in part?

A few old forms (dynamic XFA forms) keep their fields in a special format. Sign shows them. Text and signatures that you add with “Add text” exist only in the print copy. For these forms, use “Print or save as PDF”.
